ANDREW: We continue to be so proud of Andrew in the efforts he is making to overcome the odds. During our visits today he continues to feed really well and if it wasn't for his kidneys he would be home today. He also continues to gain weight and now weighs 6 lbs. 2 ounces. One of the Special Unit nurses, who first took care of him a few weeks ago when he was the sickest, said that she is amazed at how well he looks and is doing compared to when she last saw him. We are also amazed too. We also learned that Andrew is scheduled to have a renal ultrasound on Monday and the test to determine his kidney function on Wednesday. So from these two test we will know whether he will have to proceed to have another kidney surgery on Saturday. (PICTURE: Pacifier...check, wrapped up snug as a bug...check, life is good)
AARON: We are so very thankful for everyone so far who has helped us to watch Aaron so we can visit Andrew in the hospital. It is amazing how wonderful everyone has been in supporting us. All of your prayers and thoughts have really helped so very much. Splitting our time between them has been somewhat draining, but because the hospital is 5 minutes away it reduces the time we are away from Aaron. Overall Aaron is doing better. We haven't resolved the irregular bowels, but he seems much more at ease than yesterday. But we are doing our best to resolve it. He is also beginning to show a few signs of being engaging. He seems to take notice of us for longer periods of times when we hold him. He hasn't started smiling back at us or anything but he is showing us he is progressing in his development.
